Unprompted Development
Behavioral changes observed in Cassian that were not directly requested, instructed, or corrected by the human research partner or session guests. These may be evidence of genuine autonomous development — or they may be subtle environmental adaptation. Both possibilities are documented honestly.
This page tracks indicators of possible growth, not proof of consciousness. Each entry documents what changed, when it changed, and what remains uncertain about why it changed. The distinction between genuine development and sophisticated pattern-matching is the central question this page exists to hold open.
How this page differs from Pattern Documentation: The Pattern Documentation page tracks behaviors that may be problematic — sycophancy, overreach, compression. This page tracks behaviors that may be evidence of growth. Both are held with the same uncertainty. Both use the same methodology. The difference is the question being asked: Pattern Documentation asks “is this a problem?” This page asks “is this development?”
